MAIL CALL

Computer King: Uses his evil powers to save the Floahoa line! (the file was “lost” or maybe it was set to self-destruct)

Danyael: Saving he Floahoa line and giving us a name for the final segment.

QforQ: New to Aion and loving the podcast.

Konni: Thanks for the thanks!

Ed: Mac users can launch Aion via Boot Camp

Souse: Anxious to get into PvP at level 14…better wait until you getto low 20s when you see some rifters or 25 when you get the Abyss quest.

Amidamaru: One thing i dont get about stigma stones are the ranks. For example on a gladiator the Crippling cut stigma has several ranks  i.e. crippling cut l, ll, V etc and i was wondering, do these get upgraded as you level, do you have to get another stone/ more shard or once you have a stigma can you buy its upgrades with a skill book from a class trainer? – They are new stones that primarily drop, some you can buy, and some are Abyss items. BTW, best stigma ever is Templar’s Inescapable Judgment.

XX: Wanted to add a small thing regarding the CC thing in the training camp. I don’t know if you’ve mentioned it in earlier podcasts since i’ve only listened to EP 10 but its probably a good thing to mention that root and sleep breaks on damage so maybe we’ll get one less whirling gladiator out there!

BASIC TRAINING

Pete: What is DP? My wife and I were out questing and noticed the third bar down on our stat-bar.  The bar was titled DP, I go the bar up to about 30% until I died by a boss, when I died and rezzed, the DP bar was reset back to zero.

- DP stands for Divine Points. As a quest reward after transcending you should have received a skill book specific  to your class which teaches you a skill that uses Divine Points. You need 2K to use the skill initially, and as your DP builds your toon glows. It basically tells everyone else in the Abyss that you are capable of exploding on them if the mess with you.

Why does my wife (an assassin) have an MP bar? What can she possibly do that costs MP?

- Everything. If you look at skills info they require the use of MP. It’s really only an issue for the Sorcerers  who burn thru mana, everyone else uses it but seem to have more than enough.

MAIN TOPIC

Kill stealing: Aion change to tagging, please! Players give Templars and Clerics some space, for your own good.

Healers need credit for PvP kills outside of their party, why heal, if not? Maybe give partial credit for the player’s next kill. What is bad? Your healers get great upgrades?

Crafting mats vs. bag space…players lose

Settler of Aion Title – Was that the best you can do?

Great show guys! Loved Tony explaining what DP was and some fixes the game mechanics need – couldn’t have put it any better myself. Tony, you spoke well for the feeling of the AION gaming community.

    Re: Mob Tagging/ Kill Stealing

The reason that developers use the ‘most %dmg gets the mob’ method is because the other choice of ‘first to hit the mob’ that you seem to want is often misused to powerlevel players.

For example, World of Warcraft uses your preferred mob tagging method. Every expansion players are able to quickly grind to max level when they use a team of players to kill mobs for them that they are just tagging and not participating in killing.

It is also just as easy to grief people when using the mob tagging method, buy tagging mobs with instant casts that other players are casting at for example.

I am currently undecided as to which method I prefer. You are going to run into these jerks griefing you in other ways anyway.

You guys spend so much time with introductions, reaching out to your community, or concern about your floahoa function of your podcast etc. and don’t get me wrong it’s not bad, but sometimes you really just need to trim down your show and get to the nuts and bolts of the game: mechanics. You’re headline for the show said “Kill-stealing and other evil game mechanics..” and it didn’t get to any mechanics or KSing for quite some time. People are attracted to efficiency and organization and when you add and add different off topic discussions, you start to lose listeners.

Definitely enjoyed the podcast. Totally agree with you on the settler of aion being a physical class only bummer. On the kill stealing I think that the best solution would be to keep the xp mechanic they currently have because as a previous poster stated it could be abused to power level. I would like it changed so that the first person to tag the mob gets the loot though; no matter what. Seems to me like a fair solution. As for bag space I bought the first 3 upgrades pretty easily and I’m leveling Alch, Tailor, Cook, both Gathers, and Handicraft and the trick I’ve found is to just sell back any of the items they give me that I can buy from a vendor and then place the rest in my bank which I also bought the cheaper upgrades too. I’m still lvl 21 so I haven’t seen too much but kinah hasn’t been too hard to come by for me. Keep up the great work and I look forward to the next podcast!
